In Chicopee, where I grew up, there were signs everywhere warning about low flying planes because of the Westover Air Force Base nearby. My childhood memories were often intersected by sub~bass~flange whooshing sounds that ripped through clouds in deep dive slow motion.

It must be understood that lowflyingplanes was one of my many nom de plume recording projects between 1993 till around 2000), while 'THEE Low Flying Planes' was a band that developed in Boston in the summer of 2001. It had nothing to do with 911. My friends and fellow bandmates liked the name so we used it. After The Low Flying Planes {band} fell apart I used the old name one last time for this collection of songs.
